Automatic Vial Filling Machine Applications
SaintyCo vial filling machines are primarily used in pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare manufacturing. Use cases include filling small-volume parenterals (SVPs) like vaccines, insulin, and analgesics; antibiotics; biologics and monoclonal antibodies (mAbs); freeze-dried (lyophilized) drugs, and veterinary injectable production like hormones for livestock. They’re also used for nutraceutical and cosmetic sterile liquids, like vitamin injections or hyaluronic acid solutions.

What Is An Automatic Vial Filling Machine?
An automatic vial filling machine is used to fill small plastic or glass containers with precise doses of pharmaceutical products. They’re usually used to fill liquid, however our machines are also suitable for use with lyophilized drugs, which have been freeze-dried and powdered. Filling happens under aseptic or sterile conditions. This ensures product integrity and is essential for the health and safety of both facility workers and the end patient who will be receiving the medication.
SaintyCo automatic vial filling machines are designed for impeccable accuracy, high-speed, and zero-tolerance contamination control. In general, our filling machines integrate vial feeding, filling, and stoppering. Many of our models also incorporate additional functions, like vial washing, capping, and inspection.
Typically, SaintyCo automatic vial filling machines are placed towards the end of a production line. Upstream equipment may include vial sterilization or pre-gassing machines. Labeling and packaging stations are commonly found downstream.
Automatic Vial Filling Machines
Here at SaintyCo, we manufacture automatic vial filling machines with several different technologies, filling methods, and specialized modules.

Commonly used for injectable drugs where immediate post-fill stoppering is required.

Piston-based or peristaltic pumps deliver a fixed dose of liquid with each cycle.

Load cells or electronic balances measure out the dose by weight for greater accuracy.

Best for filling vials with low or medium viscosity liquids and fast production speeds.

Barrier technology minimizes contamination risk and ensures total sterility.

Our standard machines are designed to handle products like saline, insulin, or biologicals

Adapted for dry powder filling of lyophilized products with vacuum or auger dosing

Ideal for high-speed operations, with a rotating turret that handles vials in a circular motion.
Automatic Vial Filling Machines By Capacity
Whether you’re running a small-scale operation or you need to produce millions of vials every week, SaintyCo has an automatic vial filling machine that’s designed to do the job.

Our compact dual-head fillers are often preferred for pilot-scale production efforts.

Four filling heads increases throughput significantly, ideal for mid-scale production facilities.

Our highly-efficient 8-head fillers can handle up to 5,000 vials/hour with excellent consistency.

Our highest-speed machines have up to 24 filling heads, producing <36,000 vials an hour.

How Do Automatic Vial Filling Machines Work?
Below, we have broken down the working process of SaintyCo automatic vial filling machines into six key stages. The exact components at each step will differ depending on the machine setup.

SaintyCo systems offer rotary vial unscramblers for bulk loading, conveyors, or tray loading modules for RTU formats. An optional air ionizer neutralizes static.

At the core filling sage, dosing is completed by peristaltic pumps for low-volume liquids, rotary piston pumps for viscous or oil-based injectables, or vacuum or auger fillers.

Our systems use vibratory bowl feeders to orient and feed stoppers with vacuum or mechanical pick-and-place arms. We offer full or half stoppers (for lyophilization).

Our machines that include capping use rotary or linear crimping heads to create reliable aluminum seals on each vial. Torque settings are adjustable for different vial sizes.

SaintyCo vial fillers use laminar airflow (LAF) modules with HEPA filtration and optional TABS or isolator enclosures with integrated H202 decontamination ports.

Once vials are filled and stoppered, bunged, or capped, star wheels or belts move them to outfeed where they’re transferred to trays or downstream conveyors.
Extensive Vial Compatibility
SaintyCo automatic vial filling machines can be configured to support vials of various types, shapes, sizes, and materials. They’re compatible with screw vials, lip vials, and crimp vials made from plastics like COC or COP, and tubular glass vials in Type I (borosilicate), II, and III. We also provide solutions for lyophilization vials, RTU nested vials, screw-neck vials, and more, in sizes from 1 ml to 100 ml.

Works With All Standard Stopper And Cap Formats
Our vial fillers are designed for all industry-standard closures like butyl and bromobutyl stoppers, siliconized stoppers for reduced friction, vented stoppers that allow pressure equalization during freeze drying, and half stoppers. Cap types include flip-off aluminum caps, Euro-head or tear-off caps, plastic screw caps, or press-fit closures.

Testimonials
The general structure of SaintyCo automatic vial filling machines consists of a stainless steel cabinet, frame, and base. A conveyor system and vial-handling system moves vials between stations which include cleaning (optional), filling, capping or stoppering, inspections, and discharge.
At SaintyCo, we produce automatic vial filling solutions for products in both liquid, semi-liquid, and powder form. While liquids are more common, our machines are also suitable for filling lyophilized pharmaceutical products (known as cakes), which have a longer shelf life and can be reconstituted before use.
The most appropriate number of heads for your automatic vial filling machine depends on your production goals, physical facility layout (available space), and budget. We’re happy to discuss your project and give you tailored advice, so get in touch to take advantage of our expertise.
